Basel – Colmar transfer
Colmar is about 65 kilometres from Basel via the French A35, roughly 50 minutes in normal traffic. Colmar is also the birthplace of Auguste Bartholdi, sculptor of the Statue of Liberty, whose family home is now a museum. Alsace Wine Route
Riquewihr, Kaysersberg, Eguisheim, Ribeauvillé and Turckheim are each less than half an hour from Colmar. Christmas markets and events
From late November to late December, several Christmas markets spread across the old town, and weekends in Colmar are busy. In summer the Parc des Expositions hosts the Foire aux Vins d'Alsace, and the Festival international de Colmar takes place in July. Parking is scarce during those weeks; with a chauffeur you step out at the edge of the old town and are picked up again at the agreed time.
