Chauffeur service to the foot of the Matterhorn
The journey to Zermatt is the longest of our Alpine routes. We choose the route by season and traffic and make sure the switch to the train in Täsch goes smoothly.
Why the transfer ends in Täsch
Combustion engines are banned in Zermatt, and private vehicles may not enter the village. The last road ends about five kilometres earlier in Täsch. From the Matterhorn Terminal Täsch, the shuttle train runs roughly every 20 minutes during the day and takes twelve minutes to Zermatt station. Your chauffeur helps you with your luggage right onto the platform.
Arriving in the village
Electric taxis wait at Zermatt station, and many hotels collect their guests in their own electric vehicles. Give us the name of your hotel; when you book, we tell you your expected arrival time in Täsch so you can arrange the pickup in the village.
Zurich Airport – Zermatt transfer
From Zurich Airport the usual route runs via Bern to Kandersteg, through the Lötschberg on the car train to Goppenstein and on via Visp to Täsch. Allow about four hours. In peak season there can be queues at the car train; we factor them into the departure time.
Geneva Airport – Zermatt transfer
From Geneva the route follows Lake Geneva and the Rhône valley into Upper Valais, with no car train and about three hours in normal traffic. That is why many international winter guests fly into Geneva. We meet you in the Swiss sector of the airport with a name sign.
Basel – Zermatt transfer
From our base in Basel we drive via Bern and the Lötschberg to Täsch, about three and a half hours without waiting at the car train. Alternatively, the slightly longer route via Lausanne and the Rhône valley avoids the car train entirely. Guests arriving at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse can also be taken straight to Valais.
Ski season, summer and events
With the Gornergrat, the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and glacier skiing into the summer, Zermatt is in demand all year round. Arrival and departure days around Christmas, New Year and Zermatt Unplugged in spring are heavily booked. Reserve your transfer early. Groups with ski equipment are best off in the V-Class.
